Up to three years before your retirement age, you can call on the funds as follows
- Mandatory and over-mandatory occupational pension plans.
- Vested benefits policies and accounts.
For the construction or acquisition of a home for your own use, provided no other event (disability) has occurred, you can either withdraw the funds (advance withdrawal) or use them as security to take out a mortgage (pledge).
What are the possible consequences of an early withdrawal on your pension benefits?
An early withdrawal affects your retirement, death and disability benefits. Your retirement pension after retirement is reduced by the amount of the early withdrawal, and your benefits in the event of death and disability are reduced in accordance with your pension plan.
You can repay the advance withdrawal at any time, but no later than three years before you reach retirement age, or until the occurrence of another insured event (disability, death) or the cash payment of the termination benefit. The minimum repayment amount is CHF 10,000.
Please note: as far as possible, EPL withdrawals from both spouses’ funds should be avoided for tax reasons.
