Policyholders taking out 2nd pillar and 3rd pillar A (linked) pension capital should expect lower taxes in the canton of Vaud from January 2022.
In fact, in its final part of a reform with 4 expected tax cuts published on November 5, 2021, the canton of Vaud is currently one of the highest cantons in inter-cantonal comparison.
This project therefore envisages a reduction in this tax from one-third to one-fifth. This would result in a reduction in revenue of around 40% (around 30 million).
In concrete terms, the maximum tax rate, which was around 14% in Lausanne, will fall to around 9% by 2022, i.e. a saving of CHF 50,000 on an amount of CHF 1,000,000, the rate naturally being progressive according to the final pension capital.
