The two-week paternity leave compensated by the APG scheme accepted by popular vote on September 27, 2020 came into force on January1, 2021.
As with maternity leave, the loss-of-earnings allowance corresponds to 80% of the average income from gainful employment, up to a maximum of CHF 196 per day.
To finance this paternity leave, the APG contribution rate will rise from 0.45% to 0.5% from January1, 2021.
Half of this increase is paid by the employer. Don’t forget to adjust your January pay slips.
