The Federal Council has decided to maintain the minimum interest rate for compulsory occupational pension plans (BVG) at 1%, despite the recommendation of the Federal Commission for Occupational Pension Plans.
The Swiss Federal Commission for Occupational Pensions (BVG commission) recommended lowering the minimum interest rate for 2021 from 1% to 0.75%.
As a reminder, this rate determines the minimum interest that must be earned on retirement savings under the compulsory BVG scheme.
