Starting in 2018, fees for services that are less time-consuming than in the past, thanks to medical-technical advances, will be reduced. Tariff items billed by doctors in the absence of patients, such as consultation of documents, interviews with experts or relatives, will have to be more detailed and will be limited.
The transitional adjustments decided by the Federal Council will save around CHF 470 million a year, equivalent to around 1.5% of health premiums.
The Federal Council has also set the tariff structure applicable to physiotherapy services from 2018.
